After many years of dedicated service to UWA, Professor Robyn Owens has made the decision to retire at the end of her current term, in November 2019.
Robyn’s contribution to the university has been immeasurable, having performed numerous roles, most recently of course serving two terms as the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Research. In this role Robyn has led the University’s research strategy and played a critical role as a member of the UWA Executive.
Whilst Robyn will remain in this role until November 2019 and be critical to shaping the University’s new strategic vision, Robyn has provided early advice of her intention to retire in order to facilitate a smooth transition to a new DVCR – which we will commence the recruitment process for shortly.
There will be opportunity over the coming months to appropriately acknowledge and thank Robyn for her contribution, and I know the entire UWA community will join me in wishing her well for her future.
Dawn Freshwater
Vice Chancellor
