Dear Colleagues,

Human Resources, in conjunction with Business Information and Technology Services (BITS), will shortly be applying an upgrade to the University's HR Management/Payroll system, Alesco.  This is a major upgrade that will result in an outage of Alesco/ESS during business hours.

The maximum outage period is Friday, 17 April 2015 13:00 - Saturday, 18 April 2015 18:00.

During this time, the following services will be unavailable:

* ESS (Employee Self Service)
* Alesco
* Staff Dashboard
* Discoverer
* Processing via the Web (web timesheets)
* Web Reports
* some information pages (e.g. Salary Scales)

Please do not attempt to use any of the above during the outage window.

ESS:

This upgrade includes a significant change to the look, navigation and menu structure of the ESS.  A new user guide and quick start guides will shortly be available at https://www.hr.uwa.edu.au/working/applications/ess.

Note: Depending on the screen resolution of your computer, the UWA logo may appear distorted.  It is a known issue and we are working with the Alesco vendor to have it rectified.

Alesco Users:

Alesco users should have already received an email providing details of the supported operating systems, browsers and Java plug-in versions (necessary for Alesco).  Further information is available at https://www.hr.uwa.edu.au/working/applications/alesco.  Alesco users are encouraged to review the revised system requirements as soon as possible in case they require assistance from their IT support with un/installing the Java plug-in.

As always, we encourage staff to connect to HR systems via the 'HR Systems:' selector on https://www.hr.uwa.edu.au/ web page.  This ensures you always use the current web address for those systems.
